Italian citizen, resident in Milan, Claudio Masi is presently an independent consultant in the area of mobility & transport. Chairperson of the Organising Authorities Committee at U.I.T.P. (the International Association of Public Transport) from 2007 to 2011, Honorary Chair and member of said Committee from 2011 to 2015, member of the UITP Policy Board and PRESCOM from 2007 to 2011. Graduate in Electronic Engineering (at Polytecnic University of Milan, 1970) and in Political Science (at University of Milan, 1994), professionally qualified to practise as “Engineer”, “Commercial Doctor” and “Auditor of accounts”, Claudio Masi has forty three years of professional experience in the fields of mobility and transportation. His knowledge and expertise has been evolving from initial technical activity (as an engineer first at ATM-Milan PT Operator and then in TRANSYSTEM -a FIAT Group company) to new business development, project management, marketing/sales and Company management (as Division Manager and General Manager) in companies belonging to ANSALDO, BROWN BOVERI, ABB and SIEMENS (where he served from 2001 to 2003 as General Manager Transportation Systems of Siemens Italy). From 2003 to 2009 he worked as President & CEO of the Milan Agency for Mobility and Environment. Claudio Masi has a wide experience in the international business regarding planning, design, supply and construction of railway and public transport urban systems and the appraisal of “turn key” and “project financing” projects, including technical, contractual, operational and financial aspects, as well as in managing Organising Authority’s activities.
