Sylvain Haon is since September 2014 Director of Knowledge and Membership Services at UITP. He holds a degree in Political Science in France and has a Master in European Political Economy in Transition from London School of Economics. Sylvain started his career at the Trade Office of the French Embassy in Rome where he was responsible for the land transport sector, public works and environment. He has been the head of the Brussels office of SNCF directorate for European affairs. In 2003, he joined the Polis network of cities and regions as Policy Coordinator. He became Secretary General of Polis in 2006 and remained in this position until he joined UITP.
